Vodnjan is a town on the western shore of Istria County in Croatia. The town and its surroundings contain numerous cultural monuments dating back to Roman and early medieval times.
The town is situated on a hill, about 10 km north of Pula. In addition to the main town of Vodnjan/Dignano, the municipality includes the settlements of Gaiano, Gallesano, and Peroi.
The town is officially bilingual, Italian and Croatian. Istrian is also spoken.
